Teqtivity + JumpCloud Integration
Centralize asset tracking for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPad, and Android devices, enhancing security and compliance.
What is JumpCloud?
JumpCloud is a cloud-based directory service platform that provides centralized identity and access management. It helps organizations manage user identities, devices, and permissions across a variety of platforms, ensuring secure access to systems, applications, and networks. With features like single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and device management, JumpCloud helps secure IT environments while improving productivity. The platform integrates seamlessly with various IT ecosystems, providing a comprehensive solution for managing users and their devices in one place.
Why Choose Teqtivity + JumpCloud?
- Efficiency Through Automation: The integration automates asset creation when devices are enrolled into JumpCloud. This reduces manual data entry, saving time and improving accuracy in asset tracking, allowing IT teams to focus on strategic tasks.
- Enhanced Security & Compliance: JumpCloud’s security features, such as MFA and access controls, complement Teqtivity’s asset management, ensuring devices are secure and compliant throughout their lifecycle. The integration helps safeguard sensitive data and reduce compliance risks.
- Accurate Discrepancy Management: Teqtivity and JumpCloud sync in real-time, allowing IT teams to spot discrepancies, such as mismatched device assignments. These discrepancies are flagged for review, ensuring asset records are accurate and up to date.
- Streamlined Device & Asset Management: By combining identity and asset management in one platform, the integration simplifies the management of both devices and user access. IT teams can track assets from enrollment to decommissioning, improving efficiency and reducing complexity.
- Improved IT Productivity: Automating routine tasks, such as asset creation and compliance checks, frees up IT resources for more important activities. This increases productivity and reduces the risk of errors.
- Cost Optimization: The integration helps identify underutilized or non-compliant devices, allowing IT to remove unused assets and optimize device management costs.
How Teqtivity + JumpCloud Works
Automatic Asset Creation & User Assignment
When a device is enrolled in JumpCloud, Teqtivity automatically generates an asset record for the device. This record includes key information such as the device’s model, serial number, and the user assigned to it. This ensures all devices are accurately tracked from the moment they are added to the network.
Real-Time Synchronization to Identify Discrepancies
The integration continuously synchronizes data between Teqtivity and JumpCloud. Any discrepancies—such as mismatches between device assignments or missing assets—are flagged for review, allowing IT teams to quickly address any issues and maintain accurate asset records. Flagged for Review:
- Devices Not Created: If JumpCloud fails to associate a device with a user’s account, Teqtivity flags it for review.
- User Assignment Discrepancy: If a device shows a different user in JumpCloud than the one assigned in Teqtivity, IT investigates the discrepancy.
- Inactive Devices: If a device has not been used in over 10 days, IT verifies if it’s being used by someone else or has been returned.
- Unexpected Device Login: If a device is marked as “In Storage” in Teqtivity but shows recent use in JumpCloud, Teqtivity updates the asset status and automatically reassigns the device to the correct user.
Security & Compliance Monitoring
JumpCloud’s features such as encryption and MFA ensure that devices are secure. Teqtivity tracks these devices, ensuring compliance with security standards throughout their lifecycle. Any deviations are flagged for immediate action.
Lifecycle Management of Devices and Assets: From device enrollment to decommissioning, Teqtivity and JumpCloud work together to ensure all changes are accurately recorded. This helps prevent discrepancies and ensures that asset records reflect the current status of every device, from assignment to retirement.
