What is Workspace ONE?

Omnissa Workspace ONE, formerly known as VMware Workspace ONE, is an enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform designed to securely manage and monitor a wide range of devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops) across multiple operating systems. It integrates device management, app management, and security into a single platform, offering features like remote device configuration, secure app distribution, compliance monitoring, identity management, and real-time analytics. Designed to enhance security, improve operational efficiency, and simplify IT management, Workspace ONE provides organizations with the tools to ensure their devices and data are protected while streamlining device lifecycle management.

Why Choose Teqtivity + Workspace ONE?

  • Efficiency through Automation: Teqtivity automatically creates asset records upon device enrollment in Workspace ONE, ensuring accurate tracking and saving time from the start.
  • Simplified Device & Asset Management: Combining device management and asset tracking in one platform eliminates the need for separate systems, streamlining workflows.
  • Improved Security & Compliance: Workspace ONE secures devices with its features, while Teqtivity ensures they remain compliant throughout their lifecycle.
  • Accurate Discrepancy Management: Teqtivity and Workspace ONE synchronize in real time, promptly flagging discrepancies for review to keep asset records up to date.
  • Increased IT Productivity: Automating tasks like enrollment, user assignment, and compliance checks reduces manual work, allowing IT teams to focus on strategic tasks.
  • Cost Optimization: The integration identifies underutilized or non-compliant devices and enables corrective actions to reduce unnecessary expenses.

How Teqtivity + Workspace ONE Works

Automatic Asset Creation & User Assignment
When a device is enrolled in Workspace ONE, Teqtivity automatically generates an asset record for the device. This record includes essential details such as the device’s model, serial number, and user assignment, ensuring that all devices are accurately tracked from the moment they are added to the network.

Real-Time Synchronization to Identify Discrepancies
The integration ensures continuous synchronization between Teqtivity and Workspace ONE. Any discrepancies—such as mismatches between assigned users or devices falling out of compliance—are flagged for IT review, enabling quick resolution and preventing issues from going unnoticed. The discrepancies flagged for review include:

  • Devices Not Created: If Workspace ONE doesn’t link a device to a user’s email.
  • User Assignment Discrepancy: If Teqtivity shows one user assigned but Workspace ONE shows another logged in.
  • Inactive Devices: If a device hasn’t been used for over 10 days.
  • Unregistered Devices: If a device isn’t registered in Workspace ONE.
  • Unexpected Device Login: If a device is “In Storage” in Teqtivity but shows recent use in Workspace ONE.

Security and Compliance Monitoring
Workspace ONE ensures that devices are properly secured with features like device encryption and the ability to remotely lock or wipe devices. Teqtivity tracks these devices throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they remain compliant with organizational security standards. Any deviations from these standards are immediately identified, allowing IT teams to take appropriate action.

Lifecycle Management of Devices and Assets
From the moment a device is enrolled to when it is decommissioned, Teqtivity and Workspace ONE work together to ensure that all changes are accurately recorded. Whether devices are reassigned, returned, or retired, Teqtivity maintains an up-to-date asset inventory, helping to avoid discrepancies and ensuring that asset records reflect the current status of each device.
